When I go to start Asterisk, i am given this response,
Code:
Starting asterisk:                                         [  OK  ]
#/usr/sbin/safe_asterisk: line 125: 16374 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) nice -n $PRIORITY ${ASTSBINDIR}/asterisk -f ${CLIARGS} ${ASTARGS} >&/dev/${TTY} </dev/${TTY}
Asterisk ended with exit status 139
Asterisk exited on signal EXITSTATUS-128.
cat: /var/run/asterisk.pid: No such file or directory
Automatically restarting Asterisk.
mpg123: no process killed

Which just continues in a cycle without ending.

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem is or where to look to try to find the problem?

you need to kill safe_asterisk script and start asterisk by running asterisk -vvvvvvgc it will print out all the info on screen including the reason for dying.
